Attorney Shanahan’s primary practice is civil litigation in the State and Federal Courts of Massachusetts and New Hampshire. Attorney Shanahan has obtained favorable jury verdicts in both the Superior Courts of Massachusetts and New Hampshire. His area of concentration in personal injury includes wrongful death, liquor liability, premises liability, traumatic brain injury, products liability and construction site cases. He has successfully argued appellate matters before the Massachusetts Appeals Court and the New Hampshire Supreme Court. He has also appeared before local licensing authorities and the Alcoholic Beverages Control Commission on behalf of licensees.
Attorney Shanahan’s successful and notable trials include the defense of two wrongful death actions arising out of assaults that occurred outside a Lowell tavern and a Gloucester tavern, the defense of a tavern in a rollover motor vehicle accident resulting in traumatic brain injury, and the defense of a New Hampshire campground and its insurer in a personal injury case.
